Proceedings STCV I

Contributions to the STCV II Symposium

As in previous editions, the option to send "Communications to the Symposium on Thermalism and Quality of Life (STCV-II)" is offered in our webpage. You can choose your presentation preference between oral or poster communication, in any of the following sections:

  1. Mineral and medical water and thermalism: characterization and utilization
    • Physical and chemical characterization of mineral and thermal water. Hydrogeology.
    • Quality control and analysis of water
    • Traditional and modern aspects of water utilization (energy, cosmetics, etc.)
    • Administrative and legal aspects of thermal water exploitation
  2. Heritage and architecture in thermalism
    • Archeological heritage
    • Historical heritage (modern and contemporary periods)
    • Architecture, restauration and revaluation of historical SPAs
    • New architecture for thermalism: projects, challenges, and perspectives

  5. Excellent academic works: PhD, Master Thesis (TFM) or Degree Thesis (TFG) focused on any topic related to the thermalism
    • a. Best PhD, TFM or TFG related to the mineral-medicinal and thermal waters presented in the period 2012-2017 (both included)
  6. Innovations and new experiences related to thermalism and quality of life
    • New technologies
    • Social and health innovation
    • Beauty
    • Sport
    • Others

NOTE: The scientific committee deserves the decision about the accepted presentation type (which could be different from the originally marked by the author).


Option 1: Summary of a research project:

  • Objective of the work (hypothesis or problem description)
  • Methods and Results (precise summary of results according to an appropriate statistic evaluation)
  • Discussion (short comments, conclusions and implications).

Option 2: Summary of other work (not strictly research):

  • Topic (short explanation of the basic idea)
  • Method (short description of the project, experience, service, observation, etc)
  • Conclusions (summary of conclusions and implications).

Until June 16th 2017 at 23:59 (Spanish peninsular time: GTM+1). Abstracts submitted after this date will be not admitted.

General regulation for the communication submission

  • Abstracts should be sent through the Easychair platform by using the templates uploaded in the STCV-II website. Abstracts sent by fax or e-mail will not be accepted.
  • The abstract submission implies acceptance of the general regulation.
  • Communications must be previously unpublished.
  • Abstracts must be written in Spanish or English languages and submitted to the STCV-II Secretariat before June 16th 2017.
  • Abstracts should not exceed 500 words.
  • As first author any researcher can submit up to two abstracts. Although, an author can be co-author of multiple communications.
  • The presenting author must be registered in the STCV-II before July 15th 2017.
  • Accepted communications will be published in the proceedings book (with its corresponding ISBN). Once received the communication notice of acceptance by the STCV-II Scientific Committee, an extensive communication must be sent following the guidelines and deadlines established by the STCV-II organization.
  • Abstracts or final contributions received after their deadlines or those that do not follow the general guidelines will not be published.



    There will be three best paper awards (500€, legal taxes might be applied) and three secondary paper awards (certificate).


    There will be four best poster awards (certificate).

The awards will be annouced during the closing session, winners not being present in the ceremony implicitely reject the award.
